Combo Classes
The combo classes are the best way to experience multiple types of dance in one class per week. We teach age-appropriate technique and it gives students both an appreciation and love for different types of dance. They will also be able to perform more than once at our recital. Our Combo classes evolve with the ages of the students, so its important to look at the descriptions for each class.

Ballet Classes
Ballet dance is generally accepted all over the world as one of the most artistic forms of dance entertainment cherished by people of all ages. It is an artistic dance like no other, that can be used to express different emotions or to tell a story. Our Ballet students typically start in a combo class and grow from there, the move through the classes as their abilities improve.

Hip Hop Classes
Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Hip hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves.

Contemporary Classes
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. This dance genre is often done in bare feet. Contemporary dance can be performed to many different styles of music.

Lyrical dance challenges choreographers and dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. A lyrical dancer's movements attempt to show the meaning of the music. It is a combination of intricate, highly technical, and pedestrian/naturalistic moves. Lyrical dance is often choreographed to a song about freedom, of releasing a sad emotion, or of overcoming obstacles, but can be choreographed to any human emotion-related song. Depending on the given song and choreography, a lyrical piece may or may not be graceful, but will always be expressive and unpredictable.

Leaps, Jumps and Turns
This is a technique class with a heavy emphasis on leaps, jumps and turns. We call it Torture, but the truth is, the kids absolutely love it and it helps them in all the other classes. There is no recital number for Torture classes.

Musical Theatre
Musical theater is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, acting, and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical - humor, pathos, love, anger - are communicated through the words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole.

Jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations.

Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun.
